<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small sized eyepiece optical system having an excellent optical performance while maintaining high magnification. <P>SOLUTION: The eye piece optical system EL for observing an image displayed on an image display element Ob comprises, aligned along its optical axis and in order from the image display element Ob side, a first positive lens L1; a negative second lens L2 having a strong concave face on its image display element Ob side; and a positive third lens L3 having a strong projection face on its eye point EP side for achieving both of high magnification and small size. The first lens L1 is cemented and integrated with the image display element Ob for miniaturizing the eyepiece optical system EL while securing telecentricity and sufficiently wide light flux. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
