PURPOSE: A novel pyrrolopyridinone derivative and a composition containing the same are provided to prevent or treat MCH-1 related diseases such as obesity, diabetes, anxiety, and depression. CONSTITUTION: A pyrrolopyridinone derivative is denoted by chemical formula 1. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating MCH receptor-1 related diseases contains the derivative of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. The diseases include obesity, diabetes, metabolic disorder, anxiety, depression, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, Parkinson's disease, coloboma, presenile dementia, Alzheimer's disease, neurodegenerative diseases, cognitive disorder, or seizure.
