<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably perform retraction of tracking servo even when an optical disk recording medium which does not have a position guide formed previously at a layer position where mark recording should be performed like, for example, a bulk type recording medium is allowed to mixedly include a recorded part and an unrecorded part at the layer position. <P>SOLUTION: As for a tracking error signal as a traverse signal obtained in a state in which tracking servo control is off, the retraction of the tracking servo is achieved based upon a frequency measurement result (traverse frequency measurement result) of the tracking error signal and a result of recording/non-recording determination. Since the retraction of tracking servo is performed based upon not only a conventional condition associated with a traverse frequency, but also a recording/non-recording condition, retraction of tracking servo is effectively prevented from being performed for even the unrecorded part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
