The method involves measuring the spatial expansion or size of cells from the stratum granulosum of epidermis corresponding to the in vivo analysis. The actual value of the size is compared with the predetermined target values. The skin of the individual is treated with cosmetics, which influence the spatial expansion or size of cells from the stratum granulosum. An independent claim is also included for a method for assessing effectiveness of skin cosmetics by a confocal laser scanning microscope.
