<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a stable high-load treatment by preventing surfacing of a non-biological carrier having fluidity in a reaction tank and blocking due to adhesion of bubbles, and by recovering the sedimentation properties of the carrier floating due to the adhesion of bubbles effectively by a simple method, when an anaerobic treatment is carried out by filling the reaction tank with the non-biological carrier so that a biofilm is formed on the surface of the non-biological carrier and by passing water to be treated therethrough under anaerobic conditions. <P>SOLUTION: The non-biological carrier having a size of 1.0-5.0 mm and a settling rate of 200-500 m/hr is used as a fluid non-biological carrier to be filled into a reaction tank. The bubbles adhering to the carrier surfaced and flowed out of the reaction tank are separated and removed by passing the carrier through a pipe with a drop of 50 cm or more downwardly, and the resulting carrier is returned to the reaction tank. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
