<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To charge a battery of a thermal printer by an inexpensive general purpose DC power supply. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal printer 100 includes: a printing mechanism 300 including a thermal head 301 and a paper driver 302; a print controller 290 controlling the printing mechanism 300; a DC power input portion 210; and the battery 270. The thermal printer 100 further includes: a system power supply circuit 280 supplying the power from the DC power input portion to the print controller 290 in a state that DC power is being supplied to the DC power input portion 210 from the outside, and supplying the power from the battery to the print controller in a state that DC power is not supplied into the DC power input portion from the outside; and a power controller 240 operating a power switch device 260 when receiving a printing start signal from the print controller 290 to supply the power from the battery to the printing mechanism 300. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
