PURPOSE: A data transmission/reception method and an apparatus thereof are provided to improve the performance of a diversity technique in an FSTD method while using a small carrier. CONSTITUTION: A transmitter confirms the number of carriers to which transmission data symbols are transmitted by using a constant phase domain and a quadrature phase domain(610,615). The transmitter allocates the symbols according to the number of confirmed carriers(640,645,650,660). The transmitter transmits the allocated symbols through the antenna.
