METHOD FOR DETECTING GASTROINTESTINAL STROMAL TUMOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marker for detecting GIST; to provide a method for detecting or diagnosing GIST with the marker; and to provide a kit for detecting or diagnosing GIST.

SOLUTION: FOXF1 gene low in expression level in gastric cancer and the normal tissue of stomach but elevating the expression level in GIST on the other hand, and a polypeptide encoded by the gene are used as markers for detecting GIST. A detection probe for the GIST marker gene and an antibody for a polypeptide encoded by the gene can be used to detect a marker for detecting GIST and quickly and surely detect or diagnose GIST.
