PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an apparatus and a program for image processing, accurately identifying a description added to a halftone image. SOLUTION: An image reading unit 30 obtains an image data showing a document image before adding a description and an image data showing the document image after adding the description, each pixel value of the each image being constituted of a plurality of bits. An image processing unit 20 derives a calculation result image data by either subtracting or dividing the pixel values by pixel between the image data before and after the description is added, and identifies the description added thereto, based on the derived calculation result image data.
