A refrigeration system (1) comprises an injection device (14) to inject a coolant in liquid phase in the form of an atomized jet (20) into an evaporation chamber (2), an adsorption device (3) connected to the evaporation chamber and comprising an adsorbent (7), and a heat exchanger (13) positioned in the evaporation chamber in order to carry out an exchange of heat between the refrigerant and a fluid in the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger comprises an exterior exchange surface (30, 31) arranged in such a way as to intercept practically all of the atomized jet and an interior surface delimiting a fluid circuit designed to perform an effective exchange of heat between the fluid and substantially the entirety of the exterior exchange surface so that the refrigerant can be evaporated without a solid fraction building up on the said exterior exchange surface as the refrigerant is introduced.
