摘要 Disclosed is a light emitting device to improve light extraction efficiency thereof. The light emitting device includes: a light emitting structure including a first conductive semiconductor layer, a second conductive semiconductor layer, and an active layer located between the first conductive semiconductor layer and the second conductive semiconductor layer, wherein the light emitting structure also includes a first side corresponding to one side of the first conductive semiconductor layer and a second side corresponding to one side of the second conductive semiconductor layer; and first and second contact electrodes in ohmic contact with the first and second conductive semiconductor layers, respectively. The light emitting structure has a non-polar or semi-polar growth surface, and the first side of the light emitting structure includes a rough surface having multiple protrusion units. The protrusion unit includes at least three sides with a different angle from the first side.
