PURPOSE: A wheel speed sensor malfunction determining method is provided to prevent malfunction of a vehicle due to abnormal wheel speed. CONSTITUTION: A wheel speed sensor installed in a wheel of a vehicle receives a speed pulse in order to detect wheel speed(S1). The existence of the wheel in which the speed pulse is not inputted is identified(S3) when the wheel speed exceeds predetermined speed(S2). The passage of critical time is identified when the wheel without speed pulse input exists(S4). A transmission ECU(Electronic Control Unit) identifies a traveling state of a vehicle through CAN(Controller Area Network) communications when the speed pulse is not inputted until the critical time is passed(S5). The wheel speed sensor is determined as a malfunction state when the vehicle is in the traveling state(S6). |
