<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of active material capable of improving a discharge capacity of a lithium ion secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of active material according to the present invention includes a hydrothermal synthesis step of heating a mixed liquid containing a lithium source, a phosphate source, a vanadium source having pentavalent vanadium, water, and reductant under pressure.
