<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a staircase block for easily manufacturing a staircase in short order that fulfills an excellent luminous function over a long duration even under a harsh environment exposed to, for example, waterdrops from umbrellas and irradiation from the sun with heavy traffic of pedestrians, allowing the pedestrians to evacuate smoothly in a time of emergency such as power failure. <P>SOLUTION: A staircase block includes a staircase block body 2 formed of concrete with a surface having luminous materials 6, 7, and 8 for evacuation guidance including a hardened material of a luminous composition comprising a mixture of (a) a luminous particle composed of a luminous pigment having the surface coated with a polymer resin film, (b) an organic polymer having a honeycomb structure with a swelling property when contacted with a liquid, the organic polymer being a substance polymerized and honeycomb-structured from polyglutamic acid or long-chain amino acid through a chemical reaction, and (c) porous inorganic powder, with a vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
