<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a penholder stably carrying a pen or the like in a pocket, by solving the problem that the shape of a pocket is deformed due to the weight of a pen or the like when carrying the pen or the like by directly inserting it in the pocket, and the pen or the like is likely to drop off, and the pen or the like also drops off when bending forward because the effect of a clip attached to the pen or the like is weak. <P>SOLUTION: In the pocket insertion type penholder accommodated in a pocket, a thickened part extending in a horizontal direction over the entire lateral width of the pocket at the entrance of the pocket and having an elongated shape of about 2 to 5 mm in thickness and 5 to 10 mm in height.
