<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for detecting the smolder dirt of an ignition plug capable of distinguishably detecting a carbon deposit and a metallic deposit in an early stage with excellent accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The smolder dirt detection device 26 includes: a bias circuit 24 for imparting a bias to an ignition plug 1; a current detection circuit 25 connected to the bias circuit 24 to detect a current flowing in the ignition plug 1; an engine control device 3 which calculates the insulating resistance of the ignition plug 1 from the current detected by the current detection circuit 25, and transmits an ignition command signal to a transistor 23; and an alarm monitor 5 for giving an alarm by the output signal transmitted from the engine control device 3. The change amount of the insulating resistance accompanied by the change of an operating range of an engine is detected to determine the presence/absence of the deposition of any metal deposit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
