The device (D) has control units (MC) arranged to order operation of a stop light (FS) in an event of utilization of braking units (PF, FM) of a vehicle (V). The control units are arranged to cause operation of the stop light in the event of reception of first information for signaling stopping of the vehicle in the absence of utilization of the braking units. The control units are arranged to cause the operation of the stop light in the event of reception of second information for signaling absence of another vehicle behind the former vehicle at a distance lower than a threshold value. The braking unit is hand brake pedal or foot brake pedal. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle including an acquisition unit.
