PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bookrest for holding a book stably and allowing pages to be turned smoothly. SOLUTION: In the bookrest 1 where a base table 10 is provided with a back side part 20 which a book 2 is leaned against, and a hold part 30 for holding a lower end part of the book, the hold part 30 includes a slope surface 32 which has a recessed part 31 in the center and slightly increased in height toward both sides from the recessed part. By positioning the lower end part of the back cover of the book in the recessed part in the center of the hold part and standing the book, the book is stably held and pages are turned smoothly.
