<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus that can prolong the life of a battery. <P>SOLUTION: A battery state detector 2 detects a charging rate of the battery 1. A route calculator 7 calculates a route to the destination according to the charging rate of the battery 1 detected by the battery state detector 2. By this constitution, the route is calculated and the capacity in the working area of the battery is maintained in a prescribed range.
