PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicate sensitively reacting with water to quickly release a fragrance ingredient. SOLUTION: The silicate is represented by formula (1) [in the formula, m is a number from 0 to 3 representing an average degree of polymerization of silicone; and at least one of Y's represents a residue of a specific primary or secondary alcohol removed of one hydroxy group, and at least one of Y's represents a specific group comprising a benzene ring and represented by formula (I) or (II)].
