<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly perform communication over a network without imparting an adverse effect on communication performed by the other network-connected apparatuses. <P>SOLUTION: A printer 4 which performs communication using an IP address via a network 5 connected thereto has a communication control section 46a which does not perform communication using the fixed IP address with a fixed IP address (first IP address) set as an own IP address, detects that the IP address has been connected to a network when it has been detected that the IP address has been connected to the network, but acquires a second IP address which is not used on the network by using an own MAC address thereof, and an IP address setting processing section 46b configured to set a second IP address as the IP address used for communication. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
