<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new polarizer laminate having a high dichroic ratio. <P>SOLUTION: The laminate includes a photo-alignment layer (A) formed of a photo-alignment layer composition that induces a liquid crystal aligning ability by irradiation with light, and a polarizing layer (B) formed of a polarizing layer-forming composition essentially composed of at least one kind of azo dye having nematic liquid crystalline property expressed by general formula (I), wherein the photo-alignment layer composition contains a photo-active compound having at least one carboxyl group and/or sulfo group. In formula (I), R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>4</SP>each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent; R<SP>5</SP>and R<SP>6</SP>each independently represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group which may have a substituent; L<SP>1</SP>represents -N=N-, -CH=N-, -C(O)O- or -OC(=O)- group; A<SP>1</SP>represents a phenyl group which may have a substituent, a naphthyl group which may have a substituent, or an aromatic heterocyclic group which may have a substituent; B<SP>1</SP>represents a divalent aromatic hydrocarbon group or a divalent aromatic heterocyclic group which may have a substituent; and n represents an integer of 1 to 4, and when n is 2 or more, a plurality of B<SP>1</SP>may be identical with or different from each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
