Provided is an electrically-driven power steering apparatus that can continue to motor-drive power steering, even when one phase of a three-phase brushless motor malfunctions, using the remaining two phases, without worsening the steering feeling. When a power-distribution malfunction is detected at a driving system of one phase, among the phase coils, by a malfunction detecting unit (27), a malfunction-time motor-command-value calculating unit (34) will calculate, based on a steering-support-current command-value (Iref), a malfunction-time phase-current command-value to be used when using the coils of the remaining two phases, and drive the electric motor (12) on the basis of this error-time phase-current command-value. At this point, when the electrical angle (?e) is within an acceleration region, a correction is made to increase or decrease the error-time phase-current command-value, to accelerate the rotation of the three-phase brushless motor (12) in the steering direction. |
