SOLAR DESALINIZATION PLANT

A desalinization plant and process utilizes solar radiation to produce steam from seawater which is then used to generate freshwater and electricity. A seawater loop (28) communicates seawater through a concentrated solar power system (22). The seawater loop (28) includes a condense (30) at least one heat exchange (32A, 32B), a steam turbine (34) and an electric generator (36). Steam flashes off from seawater downstream of heat exchange (32B) within a flash tank (33). The steam from the flash tank (33) is superheated in the receiver (24).
