PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems that there are two methods, a detection by a software and a detection by a hardware as a method for detecting filling-up of a waste ink tank for storing a waste ink discharged when an inkjet printer is used, but as the former one estimates the amount of drying from the external environment and it easily tends to generate an error, it is necessary to take a large margin to the overflow from the waste ink tank, and a user has to perform exchanging even though it can be still used, and for the latter one, the amount of the waste ink can be accurately detected, but an additional constitution has to be added therefor, to result in increase in cost. SOLUTION: The number of rotation of a fan for accelerating drying of the waste ink is monitored, and the filling-up of the waste ink tank is detected by the change in the number of rotation.
