PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method of knitting a material to be knitted capable of being utilized by interesting ways such that one piece of a clothing or a carpet can be used variously, and in the case of becoming reversed on putting it off, it is possible to wear the same as it is, etc. SOLUTION: The method for knitting different patterns on both sides by knitting needles includes casting off single rib stitches, hooking both of two colored yarns on a finger, inserting a right hand side knitting needle 3 from the front side of the stitch hooked on a left hand side knitting needle 4, hooking a first color yarn 1 from above to form a knit slip stitch, and inserting the right knitting needle and hooking and drawing out the first color yarn 1 from below to form a purl stitch, so that the knit stitches and the purl stitches are alternately formed. The surface side pattern is knitted from front side and the reverse side pattern is knitted from the back side by hooking the second color yarn 2 for each of the patterns.
