PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical image recording device for a vehicle by which practical benefits can always be obtained. SOLUTION: The device includes a CCD camera 10, and a control unit 4 which records an image picked up by the CCD camera to an SD memory card 14. The control unit performs recording processing when a predetermined condition such as a wake-up point other than a preset accident time is satisfied. A current position detected by a GPS receiver 1 and ambient sounds recorded by a microphone 15 at that time are also stored by being associated with each other. The recorded image and the like can be displayed and confirmed on a display unit 6, or confirmed on an external personal computer or the like by removing the SD memory card and transferring the information thereto, or uploaded to an Internet site.
