PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system for searching an optimal route from a departure place to a destination through a transit place, guiding the route to the destination, and correctly determining whether a vehicle passes through the transit place. SOLUTION: A navigation apparatus includes: a transit place virtual line setting means 36; and a passage decision means 33. If the transit place is configured such that the vehicle enters from a road as the route into an area as the transit place at a branch node, and returns from the area as the transit place to the road at a merging node, the transit place virtual line setting means 36 considers a first point as a predetermined location in a first link or a link group on the road side, considers a second point as a predetermined location in a second link or a link group within an area of the transit place, connects the first and second points, and sets a transit place virtual line as a line for dividing the area of the transit place.
