PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure operation without manually performing crashing work at a snow melting season in a cold district. SOLUTION: A pump includes: a casing 10 having a pumping pipe 11 extending upward in an almost vertical direction from the vicinity of the bottom of a water tank 1; an impeller 18 arranged in the casing 10; a rotary shaft 19 passing through the casing 10 and connected to the impeller 18; a driving means (water-cooled prime mover 20) coupled to an end of the rotary shaft 19, which lies outside the casing 10, and rotating the rotating shaft 19; a jacket 38 arranged at an outer periphery of the pumping pipe 11 to lie near the water level of the water tank 1 and forming a fluid passage 39 between the jacket and the outer periphery of the pumping pipe 11; and a fluid supply means for melting (water cooling mechanism 25) connected to the jacket 38 and passing fluid of a predetermined temperature through the fluid passage 39.
