The present invention relates to a cooking appliance. According to the present invention, steam generated in a steam generating section is selectively supplied to a cook top section or a steam cooking section, so that the steam supplied to the cook top section is used for the washing of a top plate and the steam supplied to the steam cooking section is used for the cooking of food. The present invention has an advantage in that the steam may be used for various purposes such as the washing of the top plate in addition to the cooking of food.
