PURPOSE: A solar cell and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent the decrease of a solar cell by suppressing the increase of reflectivity due to the variation of the protrusion shape on a texturing surface. CONSTITUTION: A texturing surface with a plurality of protrusion units is formed on the front surface of a first conductive type substrate. A second conductive type emitter layer opposite to the first conductive type is formed by injecting impurities to the substrate. An emitter region(121) is formed by removing the part of the emitter layer with a reactive ion etching method. A reflection barrier layer(130) is formed on the emitter. A front electrode(140) is connected to the emitter unit. A rear electrode(151) is connected to the substrate.
