<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus and to a method for manufacturing a reflective heat insulator which exhibits high reflection and low radiation performance when used alone or when used as a component in a heat insulator. The apparatus comprises: a feeder for feeding a crosslinked polyethylene foam sheet; a frame having winders arranged in the front and rear thereof to wind a finished reflective heat insulator; a cut-out unit arranged at the front portion of the frame to form a plurality of cut-out grooves on the crosslinked polyethylene foam sheet fed from the feeder; an extension unit arranged in the rear of the cut-out portion to widen the width of the crosslinked polyethylene foam sheet having the cut-out grooves and to thus transform the cut-out grooves into through-holes; a cooling unit arranged in the rear of the extension unit and equipped with a cooling roller for maintaining the extended width of the crosslinked polyethylene foam sheet and the shapes of the through-holes transformed from the cut-out grooves; and a laminating unit arranged in the rear of the cooling unit to laminate an aluminum film onto one or both sides of the crosslinked polyethylene foam sheet, the width of which has been widened and which has the through-holes, to provide the sheet with high reflection and low radiation properties.</p> |
