The fuse belt system (18) has an air brake (24) and a pressure chamber (30) that is filled with a medium (29). An element (20) is pivotable around a rotational axis (D) relative to a support element (22). A relative rotation guides between the element and the support element to a pressure rise in pressure chamber which is moved in an operating force of the air brake. The medium is silicone, particularly silicon granulated material. An independent claim is also included for a belt retractor.
