<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a laminated coating film which enables forming a laminated coating film having excellent decorativeness and being capable of controling effectively transmission of light to a substrate, a laminated coating film formed by the method and a coated article having a laminated coating film formed by the method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When a laminated coating film to be formed is a single-layer coating film, the intensity ratio (I4/I1) of the intensity (I4) of light in a specified band region of wavelengths transmitted to a substrate within a coating film to the intensity (I1) of light impinging from the surface of the coating film is calculated from an absorption coefficient K, a scattering coefficient S, a film thickness X and a reflectance R<SB>g</SB>of the substrate, which change pigment by pigment contained in the coating film. Based on the relationship, a pigment, a blend ratio of the pigment and a film thickness are selected for individual layers so that the laminated coating film shows an intensity ratio below a specified value or allows light of a low intensity I4 to be transmitted to the substrate.
