<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and economically ensure accurate detection of an obstacle when an screen is coming near the end in a closing stroke. <P>SOLUTION: This method is provided for detecting the existence of an element between the sill of an opening and the end of an electric screen which contacts the sill. The screen has a detecting means for determining the inclination of the end of the screen to a predetermined reference axis, and the inclination is determined by a plane parallel to a plane formed by the screen after closed. The method includes continuous steps, namely, (b) a step in which the detecting means 8 determines a value for the inclination angle of the end of the screen, and (c) a step in which a processing unit executes a specified scenario when the determined value of the inclination angle is greater than a defined threshold angle value. It also includes a step of determining the reference axis in accordance with at least one value measured by the detecting means 8, the reference axis being used for determining the value for the inclination angle of the end in the step (b). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
