PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide Photinus pyralis luciferin and a Photinus pyralis luciferin analogue which are modified, in more detail, to provide the Photinus pyralis luciferin and the Photinus pyralis luciferin analogue which maintain the photogenesis activity by luciferase. SOLUTION: The luciferin in which the fifth position of a benzothiazole cyclic part is modified is disclosed. Moreover, the luciferin analogue in which the sixth position of a benzene ring moiety is modified is disclosed.
