<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce time required to obtain destination MAC addresses or to alleviate the workload of manually setting MAC addresses in communication ports for duplicate PtP connections in a WAN. <P>SOLUTION: A communication port 1001 includes functions 1002, 1003 that, when transmitting a data frame received by a transmission block 702, copy a transmission-source MAC address region in the received data frame to a destination MAC address region, randomly select a destination MAC address, or specify a fixed value set beforehand, as the destination MAC address. The communication port also includes functions 709, 712, and 713 that perform reception processing without inspecting the destination MAC address region in a MAC header after a reception block 709 receives a data frame.
