Disclosed is a carbodiimide-modified soluble polyamide obtained by reacting 100 parts by mass of a soluble polyamide and 0.5-20 parts by mass of a carbodiimide compound in the presence or absence of a solvent at a reaction temperature of 50-300°C. This soluble polyamide is excellent in solubility, moisture resistance and heat resistance, while having good storage stability.
