A long-distance powering system, the long-distance powering system consists of an office side power supply module, a backup power supply module and a power supply switch unit. The office side power supply module provides centralized power supply for corresponding one group of subscriber lines, the power supply switch unit monitors the powering state of the office side power supply module, and controls the switch between the backup power supply module and the office side power supply module. In this invention, different Step-up circuit, Step-down circuit for some pairs of subscriber lines in the office side power supply module and the remote power device are not required, the backup power supply module provides power for the remote power device while the powering state of the office side power supply module is abnormal, the design cost of the office side power supply module and the remote power device is reduced, and it ensures the reliability of power supply for the remote power device; therefore reduces the cost of the long-distance powering system and enhances the reliability of the long-distance powering system.
