PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stacker device that holds cut tags in a vertical state and stores the tags to stand side by side and overlapped in the horizontal direction, and also to provide its control method. SOLUTION: This stacker device is provided with: a front face guide plate 9 for regulating movement of the tag T cut and conveyed by a draw-in conveyance means 2 in a conveyance direction F and guiding the tag T vertically; a bottom face part 10 provided horizontally and orthogonal to a lower face part of the front face guide plate 9 for having the tag T guided by the front face guide plate 9 placed thereon; a stopper plate 11 for sandwiching the tag T placed on the bottom face part 10 and erected on the bottom face part 10 opposing the front face guide plate 9; a tag storage part 12 formed between the front face guide plate 9 and the stopper plate 11; an advancing/retracting means 13 for advancing and retracting the front face guide plate 9; and a slide means 14 for moving the front face guide plate 9 and the advancing/retracting means 13 along the bottom face part 10 in the direction to move away from the stopper plate 11.
