A muffler unit for a general-purpose engine (10) including an engine body(27) having an exhaust port (23), the muffler unit comprising: an exhaust pipe (43) having a first end (43a) adapted to be connected to the exhaust port (23) of the engine body (27) and a second end (43b) opposite to the first end (43), and a muffler (40) connected to the second end (43b) of the exhaust pipe (43). The first end (43a) of the exhaust pipe (43) has a second attachment portion (83) and a third attachment portion (83) that are disposed symmetrically with respect to a central axis of the exhaust pipe (43) for attachment to a portion of the engine body (27) including the exhaust port (23), wherein the muffler (40) has a single first attachment portion (81) adapted to be connected to the engine body (27). In a top plan view of the muffler (40) when mounted to the engine body (27), the first, second and third attachment portions (81, 83) are located at respective corners of a triangle, and the muffler (40) has a center of gravity disposed inside the triangle.
