<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembly camshaft, a cam lobe, and a method for assembling the assembly camshaft, ensuring an interference during shrink fitting while ensuring required performance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A low thermal conductivity layer 4 having thermal conductivity lower than the base material of the cam lobe 1 is formed between the inner peripheral surface 1a of the cam lobe 1 and the outer peripheral surface 1b thereof, and the inner peripheral surface 1a of the cam lobe 1 is heated during the shrinkage fitting. Therefore, during the shrink fitting, even if the temperature of the inner periphery 5 of the cam lobe 1 is raised higher than heat treatment temperature (tempering temperature), the outer periphery 1b of the cam lobe 1 is prevented from being raised to a temperature higher than the heat treatment temperature T. Thereby, it is possible to ensure the interference by sufficiently radially enlarging a shaft hole 3 during the shrink fitting while ensuring hardness of the outer periphery 6 of the cam lobe 1.
