PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure capable of preventing its collapse, even if an unexpected earthquake occurs. SOLUTION: This structure 1 is constituted, by dividing a primary member 5 for bearing self-weight of the structure 1 and providing a friction damper 8 between the divided parts of the primary member 5. The friction damper 8 is provided with a cylindrical body, connected to either of the divided parts of the primary member 5; a piston connected to the other of the divided parts of the primary member 5t a filler filled into the cylindrical body and solidified a dowel part, engaging with the filler and expanding volume of the filler when the force for moving the cylindrical body and the piston relatively reaches initial motion proof stress P<SB>o</SB>; and a friction face which is provided in an insertion part in the cylindrical body in the piston and against which the granulated filler is pressed by the cylindrical body repelling the volume expansion.
