PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging method by which the phase gradient of the magnetic moment of a proton in a specified direction in a voxel can be introduced, and to provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus which can display the phase gradient as the contrast of an image. SOLUTION: The phase gradient (θ) of the magnetic moment of the proton in the specified direction in the voxel can be introduced by using the following formula which is formulized by taking a difference in the phase between the center of the voxel and the end section of the voxel as an independent variable (X), and a signal strength correlated with the density of the proton as a dependent variable (S).
