A re-winding apparatus rewinds a continuous web which receives a bending stress, especially such a web having RFID tags or labels, each having an IC chip and antenna part attached on an RFID inlay. A take-up spindle re-winds the continuous web. A drive member drives the take-up spindle. A tension-roll provides a predetermined tension on the continuous web at a location upstream of the take-up spindle. An arcuate slit is provided on a lateral surface on the housing of the re-winding apparatus, which causes arcuate movement of the tension-roll. A restricting member restricts movement of the roll guided by the slit and enables optimal positioning within the arcuate slit. A detecting member detects the lowest part position of the movement range of the tension-roll.
