PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress reduction in image productivity in an image forming apparatus having a plurality of image forming modes. SOLUTION: A control section 60 sets one image forming mode from the plurality of image forming modes for setting a different image forming condition to an image forming section used in forming an image on a medium. In adjusting an image forming condition in the set image forming mode, the control section 60 performs control so as to acquire a measurement value of the progress state from a counter for individually measuring the progress state after adjustment of the image forming condition for each image forming mode, and adjust the image forming condition when the measurement value of the progress state in the set image forming mode exceeds a predetermined value.
