Disclosed is a method for prognosis of cancer in a human patient, the method comprising: (a) detecting expression of EphB2 in a biological sample from the patient, and in a control sample; (b) comparing expression of EphB2 in the biological and control samples; and (c) predicting cancer prognosis of the patient based on the comparison in (b), wherein increased EphB2 expression in the patient biological sample relative to a control sample is prognostic for cancer in the subject.
