摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make inexpensive crimp connection of an electric wire and a connector with high mechanical strength where a special connector shape is not required and the crimping can be made with the use of a general tool. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The connector 10 includes, for example, a joint portion 11, a crimping barrel portion 12 and a holding barrel portion 13. An aluminum electric wire 20 has a structure of a core wire 21 covered by a sheathing 22. The crimping barrel portion 12 is formed of a pair of holding strips 16. When the core wire 21 laid between the holding strips 16 is crimped, for example, a height H of a crimped part top 16b is constant in a side view, and also the holding strips 16 are bent in a tapered form along an axial direction so that, for example, the spacing between the facing crimping part ends 16a towards the end portion of the core wire 21 in an axial direction should be wider than that towards the base portion of the same. This will lead to a higher compression rate of the core wire 21, especially, towards the end part of the crimping barrel portion 12 resulting in electric conduction, and a lower rate of compression towards the base portion resulting in mechanical connection.
