<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which prevents degradation in display quality due to deformation of a polarizing plate constituting a part of a liquid crystal module, in a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid crystal layer 14 held between a first and a second substrates 15 and 16; an upper polarizing plate 18 arranged on the outside of the first substrate 15; and a protective plate 11 fixed and disposed on the outside of the upper polarizing plate 18.
