<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device for a vehicle small and excellent in mountability on the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A storing chamber 100 of an ECU 12 is formed by a first housing 23 to be commonly used also for a part of a motor housing 25 and a second housing 24 to be commonly used also for a part of a gear housing 22 in contact with the first housing 23. An inner wall surface 102 of the second housing 24 includes an annular plane orthogonal to a center axis C1 (or an extension line C2) of the rotary shaft 37 of an electric motor 18 and surrounding the center axis C1 (or the extension line C2).
